Education Opportunities

• Educational Institutions Offering Credit for Military Experience
  Find out if your military service earned you college credit.  Education funding is available to veterans through the GI Bill. Colleges and universities award credit towards a degree to veterans based on training, coursework and occupational specialty. 

Other Support Resources

• Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) Program
  This program trains or retrains and rehabilitates disabled veterans for new careers by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialists and Local Veterans Employment Representatives provide workforce and other services to VR&E referred, special disabled veterans participating in the VR&E Program (Chapter 31, Title 38, USC).  Services include:
  • On-the-job training (OJT)
  • Non-paid work experience
  • Selective job placement
  • Case management, counseling, and follow-up services
  • Provision of job-seeking training, job analysis and labor market information

• Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program
  The Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program helps homeless veterans find meaningful employment and ensure they receive assistance with other services.

• Incarcerated Veterans Transition Program
  This program provides transitional assistance, including employability skills training, counseling, case management, job search and placement assistance to incarcerated veterans who are transitioning out of the correctional system. This is a collaborative partnership with the federal and state correctional centers in Florida.
