The mission of the Office of Inspector General is to promote accountability, integrity, and efficiency by providing quality audits, investigations, management reviews and technical assistance.
Authority
Section 20.055, Florida Statutes, establishes an Office of Inspector General (OIG) in each state agency to provide a central point of coordination and responsibility for promoting accountability, integrity, and efficiency. For state agencies under the jurisdiction of the Governor, the Inspector General is appointed by the Chief Inspector General and is under the general supervision of the agency head for administrative purposes. The OIG is comprised of Audit and Investigative sections.
