Hurricane Irma

On September 10, 2017, Hurricane Irma made landfall in the Florida Keys as a Category 4 storm and made a second landfall near Marco Island before moving north through the center of the state causing widespread damage.

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that the state of Florida would receive Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding to support long-term recovery efforts following Hurricane Irma. Working with impacted communities around the state, the Florida Department of Commerce (FloridaCommerce), through the Office of Long-Term Resiliency, developed an action plan to guide how this funding will address unmet recovery needs through the following assistance programs:
