The Department of Economic Opportunity's Reemployment and Emergency Assistance Coordination Team (REACT) serves as the state’s dislocated worker unit. WARN notices submitted by employers are processed centrally by the DEO. Florida’s Regional Workforce Boards are responsible for direct services to employers and workers who are affected by layoffs and business closings.

The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) was enacted on August 4, 1988 and became effective on February 4, 1989.
