Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day 2016

Today’s students are the future of Florida’s workforce and in order for Florida to have the nation’s top economy and be the best place to live and do business we must ensure our state’s workforce is the best.

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity invites you to celebrate more than 20 years of Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day with an interactive event at the Florida State Capitol. We encourage you to bring your daughters, sons, relatives, friends or other sponsored girls and boys ages 8-18 to learn about the importance of education, the top growing careers in Florida, particularly those in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), as well as the impact they have on the future of Florida’s workforce.

Florida is very diverse with careers in a multitude of fields including tourism, agriculture, health, technology, and business. By showing students this diversity and connecting these various industries to the education necessary, we are able to encourage them to explore new challenges and consider a career path they may not have otherwise.
