Office of the Inspector General

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is undergoing an assessment by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) to maintain state-level accreditation. A team with the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation will conduct an on-site assessment of the DEO OIG on March 12, 2019. As part of the assessment, employees of the DEO and the public are invited to offer comments to the assessment team. An accreditation assessment examines all aspects of OIG’s Internal Investigations Section, including looking at policies and procedures, management, operations and support services.

DEO employees and the general public are invited to offer comments to the assessment team. A copy of the accreditation standards is available through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation’s website at www.flaccreditation.org. Comments can also be submitted through writing and sent to: Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, P.O. Box 1489, Tallahassee, Florida 32302, Email: flaccreditation@fdle.state.fl.us.

Once the Commission's assessors complete their review of OIG, they report to the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation who will determine if OIG maintains accreditation. Participation in the accreditation process is voluntary and, if granted, will be for a three-year period.
