Gov. Rick Scott Announces the Reappointment of Jesse Panuccio as the Executive Director of DEO

Dec 10, 2014

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the reappointment of Jesse Panuccio as the Executive Director of the Department of Economic Opportunity.

Governor Scott said, “Our goal is to make Florida the global destination for jobs and I know Jesse is focused on that each day. Jesse has done a great job at DEO and under his leadership, our unemployment rate has sharply dropped and our state has seen impressive job gains. I am confident Jesse will continue to champion our vision of making sure every family who wants a job has one.”

Jesse Panuccio said, “It has been an honor and privilege to serve under Governor Scott these past four years and I am eager to continue helping him implement the policies that are getting Florida families back to work. Florida’s economy is growing. Our private sector has created nearly 680,000 jobs and our unemployment rate has significantly declined in the last four years. We will continue to work each day to make sure Florida is the best place in the world to do business and raise a family.”

Panuccio, an attorney and graduate of Harvard Law School, joined the Governor’s office in early 2011 as the Governor’s Deputy General Counsel and later became General Counsel in 2012. He has served as the Executive Director of DEO since January 2013.
