DEO Awards Competitive Florida Partnership grant to Polk City

~ $36,000 in grant funds will be used for asset-based economic development ~

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) recently awarded $36,000 in Competitive Florida grants to Polk City. The grants assist in creating economic development strategies, conducting asset-mapping exercises to leverage existing resources and implementing innovative economic development projects with a focus on small cities and rural communities.

DEO Executive Director Cissy Proctor said, “DEO is dedicated to improving the future of Florida communities, especially in rural areas. Competitive Florida grants help to improve infrastructure, business development and the quality of life for families, and we are proud to award this to Polk City.”
