The Rebuild Florida Workforce Recovery Training Program is designed to train Floridians in communities impacted by Hurricane Michael in trades necessary to support disaster recovery efforts. The program provides funding to local workforce development boards, educational institutions and technical centers to launch training programs which address the increased demand in the construction trades while also providing support to Floridians seeking new employment in the post-disaster economy.
The application submission cycle for the Rebuild Florida Workforce Recovery Training Program for Hurricane Michael closed on December 15, 2020. On April 7, 2021, awards were announced for two academic institutions.

Eligibility
The Rebuild Florida Workforce Recovery Training Program makes funds available to local workforce development boards, school districts, higher educational institutions and technical centers serving communities impacted by Hurricane Michael.
Eligible Activities
Funding may be used to launch or expand training programs for construction trades including roofing, masonry, carpentry, concrete finishing, plumbing, HVAC, electricity, heavy equipment operations, floor installation, window installation, plastering, welding and more. The funding may also be used for customized training programs tailored to the specific economic revitalization needs of a community.
