Regulatory Agencies’ Support & Resources

• The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta (the Feds) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) support lenders who participate in the State Small Business Credit Initiative, which can assist them in meeting the credit needs of small business owners in a prudent and safe manner.
• Federal financial regulatory agencies, and the Conference of State Bank Supervisors have adopted a Policy Statement on Meeting the Credit Needs of Creditworthy Small Business Borrowers.
• Read a letter from John C. Lyons Jr., OCC Senior Deputy Comptroller and Chief National Bank Examiner, to Illinois Governor Pat Quinn concerning regulatory oversight of financial institutions using funding provided by the SSBCI.
• Read a letter from Martin J. Gruenberg, Acting Chairman, FDIC, to Illinois Governor Pat Quinn concerning regulatory oversight of financial institutions using funding provided by the SSBCI.
• The FDIC has published “Frequently Asked Questions Regulatory Issues Concerning the State Small Business Credit Initiative”.
• The Feds have published “Federal Funding for State Small Business Programs”.
• The OCC has published “Community Developments Investments (February 2013)”.
