Implementing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act includes new funding for workforce services programs administered by the Agency for Workforce Innovation. Florida expects to receive an estimated $162 million in new funding to help job seekers connect with employers and employers find job applicants. Funds will also be used to help create jobs through On-The-Job training and subsidized work experience opportunities and to enroll individuals into education and training programs that will lead to a job. The emphasis on training is for green jobs and healthcare jobs.
